it’s all coming together

There’s only one month left in the Patch Project Fan Art Contest! Create a piece of art – any kind of art! – and post it to social media by June 30th for a chance to win a copy of Where Long Shadows End! You can find all the details here.

Speaking of book three, I’m happy to report that the final draft is now in copy edits! Layout is just around the corner and the cover is in the works – it’s all coming together, which is exciting and a bit of a relief. I really felt the pressure on this one, but I think it’s going to be the best installment of the Patch Project series to date!

I finally reorganized by bookcase after unpacking the last of my books! I love having all my favourites at hand – especially ones by friends 🙂

In the meantime, I’ve got a couple of short stories in the works and am putting together a guest post for Ben’s blog. He’s celebrating 500 posts in a couple of weeks, which is incredible! His blog inspired me to be better at keeping up with my own and gives some great insight into what it’s like to be an author – and there are always gifs!

There was a day last week where a ton of writers who I admire had publications announced or come out. I highly recommend checking them out if you’re looking for a new read:

Still, We Wait” by Nico VC – Appearing in issue 5.1 of Augur Magazine (read the excerpt here)

Bolt” by Kate Hargreaves – Also appearing in issue 5.1 of Augur Magazine

These Long Teeth of the Night by Alexander Zelenyj – A collection of his short stories published by Fourth Horseman Press to celebrate 20 years of his fiction

Ere by Amilcar John Nogueira and Simina Banu – A collaborative poetry chapbook coming out with Long Con Magazine

Happy reading! Hopefully by the next post I’ll have a better idea of a release date for Where Long Shadows End!
