I finished reading an advance reader copy of Stargun Messenger by Darby Harn! It’s a thought-provoking high-speed space adventure in the vein of Samuel R. Delany and Bladerunner. I’ll be posting a more in-depth review closer to the May release date, but suffice it to say it was definitely worth the read!
Speaking of Stargun Messenger, I’m part of the upcoming cover reveal on March 16th! Be sure to stop by my Twitter or Instagram page (links in the top right-hand corner) to get your first glimpse of the stunning cover illustrated by none other than the talented author and artist Al Hess!

A couple of writing updates! I signed up for a writing workshop in the spring, which I’m pretty excited about. It’s been a while since I’ve gotten to provide and receive manuscript feedback on a weekly basis!
I’ve decided to forgo the horror novella I was working on in favour of working on the story for the Adventure Worlds Press 10th anniversary anthology. I rewrote the beginning and am working my way through to the ending I have in mind. It’s about an underwater town, anti-corporation protests, and the double-edged sword of being a citizen of a corrupt system.
Speaking of swords, I had a fantastic book haul from the library the other day! I tend to visit the Sci-Fi/Fantasy section without any expectations, and often come away with more than I could’ve wished for! Here’s what I found this week!

The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms is by N.K. Jemisin, one of my favourite authors, though I’m just getting around to reading this series for the first time! The Witcher: Sword of Destiny is the second book in the newer editions – I loved the short story format of the first book, The Last Wish, where we get to know the Witcher and his circle through a cycle of time-jumping stories. Noor by Nnedi Okorafor was one of those unexpected finds – I loved Okorafor’s Binti trilogy, so am excited to read something else by her!
That’s all for this week! Happy reading and writing to you all!
